Volunteers


Aid Stations
Volunteers will be in charge of set up, distribution and break down of the aid stations on course.

Body Markers/ Transition Zone
Volunteers will be in charge of marking triathlete's with their bib numbers for the swim as well as making sure each racer's bike is also numbered correctly. Volunteers should be willing to be assertive to help ensure the security of the transition area as it is used only registered athletes and race officials. These volunteers will also be responsible for keeping transition clear until the last athlete has started the run portion of the race.

Community Awareness
Volunteers will distribute flyers to Bike shops, running stores and athletic facilities in each IDC host city as well as to local residence along the course notifying them of the race.

Course Marshals
Volunteers will be placed at intersections on the course to assure bikers and runners are keeping to the specified course path by giving directions, as well as keeping unauthorized people from entering the course during the race.

Finish Area
Volunteers will help recover timing chips, distribute water and finisher's medals to athletes, as well as offer assistance if needed.

Registration & Runner's Packet Pick-Up Volunteers will help distribute runner race materials, timing chips, swim caps, and T-shirts, as well as direct runners, and help set up and breakdown the registration area

Volunteer Check-In
Help check-in other volunteers; explain duties and direct volunteers to their assigned areas. Volunteers will also distribute T-shirts, food and beverage and help with set up and breakdown of volunteer area.
